How glad we are that we joined for 6 months this year

I just wanted to tell you how glad we are that we joined for 6 months this year. It is the first year my daughter has tried cross country and we have absolutely loved coming to Denne Hill. She has learnt such a lot, tackled all the smaller fences, and the ground always seems perfect. And as a bonus it is just the most beautiful place to spend a few hours with 4 legged friends!

…the course very suitable for youngsters…

“I have been using Denne Hill Cross Country Ride for many years now – right through from ponies to horses. I find the layout of the course very suitable for youngsters because you have a circuit of jumps with both bigger and smaller options. The setting of the course means it is fun for both horse and rider; winding through woods and going across open fields. There are a range of jumps to choose from therefore I often use it as a practice before a competition.”

Even after many years of visiting Denne Hill, it still manages to provide the cross country “buzz”

“We only have good days at Denne Hill. The beautiful setting is a tonic in itself. We are fortunate to live a few miles away, but even for those from further afield, a trip to Denne Hill is well worth the effort. We will sometimes spend not much more than an hour schooling over specific fences, but at other times we have made a day of it, with a picnic, and there is plenty to do.

The course is fresh and interesting; the jumps are well built and well maintained, with plenty of space to establish eventing pace over fences. There is a useful balance between smaller schooling fences placed in a more enclosed area and larger more challenging obstacles in an open setting.

The water complex has been invaluable for training horse and rider to confidently ride through water.

Even after many years of visiting Denne Hill, it still manages to provide the cross country “buzz”.”
